[ HOW WE CAN HELP ]
Rehab It.
From non-operative injuries sustained on the slopes, trails, sporting events, and around the house, to motor vehicle and workplace injuries, post-operative conditions, and chronic or persisting complaints, we’ve got you covered. We have a background in the Gray Institute’s Applied Functional Sciences (AFS) to utilize a functional movement screen as a foundation for further assessment and treatment. Analyzing biomechanics and assessing dysfunction throughout the kinetic chain can often give “missing information” that strictly a ‘table-based’ evaluation may omit.
Enhance it.
“If you have a body, you are an athlete” - Bill Bowerman
We love working with athletes! The problem is, most people fail to recognize they ARE one. While athletics are commonly associated with high school, collegiate, or professional sports, we argue that movement itself can constitute as such.
We can develop an intense program to further develop speed and explosive power, if that is what you need. We can also work with you to make sure your body is prepared to tackle that backpacking trip, multi day skiing adventure, or half-marathon for the first time.
Prevent It.
Research supports the implementation of injury prevention programs for many common injuries, especially ACL tears. Not only does Switchback PT have a dedicated background in this specific injury, but are also highly experienced working with overhead athletes and rotational sports, such as baseball, golf, and tennis, which have a propensity towards shoulder, back, and elbow injuries. Regardless of the sport or activity, our goal with injury prevention is to supplement and enhance your existing training program based on the demands of your activity, not to replace it.
Preserve it.
Many conditions may present without significant “functional limitations” or possess the ability for objective improvement. Maybe you are looking simply to maintain progress made in other training or rehab programs. In these cases, insurance companies - particularly Medicare - may not deem the continuous and/or indefinite coverage for these conditions as “medically necessary,” despite undesired consequences to your quality of life. Whether it is balance and fall concerns, general physical function, or chronic and degenerative conditions (e.g. Parkinson’s Disease) we can work with you to provide the care you need, in a convenient and applicable environment, and on your terms.
